Why British English, specifically?
Because IELTS is graded out of Cambridge. RP, Estuary, Northern, Welsh — they're all welcome. Angie's training data is weighted toward British English broadcast speech (BBC + IELTS practice corpora).
How does the AI grading compare to a human examiner?
Within ±0.25 of the human band 93% of the time, audited weekly by Cambridge ESOL-trained linguists. We publish the audit on /efficacy quarterly.
What if I use a different accent (Indian, Filipino, etc.)?
You'll get exactly the same band you'd get from a fair examiner. We score intelligibility, not 'Britishness'. If your accent is clear, you score well — full stop.
Can I cancel after the 7-day trial?
Yes. One tap. No retention call. We don't even ask why.
Does this work for IELTS Academic AND General Training?
Yes. The Speaking rubric is identical across both. Writing prompts adapt to your chosen track.
Will my audio be used to train AI?
Never. Transcripts are kept for your own progress reports; audio is deleted within minutes of grading. GDPR-compliant by default.
Can my school or company buy seats in bulk?
Yes — see /corporate or /schools for the seat-based plans. £9 per seat per month for corporates, free for K-12 schools with 30+ students.
What devices does it work on?
Anywhere with a microphone: iPhone, Android, Mac, PC, iPad. Native apps in beta on iOS + Android; the web app is the canonical experience.
What if I get stuck and need a human?
